Founded by Golf Digest’s #1 ranked coach in Oregon, Jeff Ritter. ‘MAKE THE TURN’ curriculum utilizes cutting edge practices in learning and skill development to make the road to achievement both simple and doable for every golfer.

An accomplished coach, author and speaker, Ritter is known for his unique approach to teaching the game. His passion for inspiration, body health and mental flexibility has set him apart as a purveyor of not only playing well but living well.

A consistent presence in the world of golf media, Jeff is a regular featured guest on Golf Channel appearing on programs such as Morning Drive. In 2016 he was studio host of PGA National Instruction Day on Golf Channel, the most watched golf instruction event in history. In 2014 he created the MAKE THE TURN Weekly Challenge Series for Golf Digest TV. The program was the most successful series on the Golf Digest platform, garnering 20 million viewers. His inspiring perspective on game and lifestyle development has Jeff traveling internationally to share the MAKE THE TURN message of living more powerfully through the game of golf.

Jeff Ritter’s renowned MAKE THE TURN Performance coaching program, as well as the progressive club fitting company True- Spec Golf are located at Pronghorn Club at Juniper Preserve in Bend, Oregon. Leaders in the world of player development, MAKE THE TURN and True- Spec work seamlessly together to provide you with the tools and support to elevate your game.

Programs are available for adults and juniors, including hourly private coaching,1/2 day and full day custom schools, game specific masterclass schools and more. 

Operating out of our state-of-the-art indoor/outdoor learning center, you’ll enjoy a game changing learning experience any time of year at the finest training facility in the Pacific Northwest.

A Lead Coach For Golf Channel Academy, as well as ranked among the Top 25 Teachers in America by Golf Tips magazine, Ritter is an expert communicator with an impressive pedigree working with top amateurs, elite juniors, collegiate standouts as well as players on the professional tours.

Talon Payne

MTT Staff Coach

Talon Payne is a graduate of the New Mexico State University PGA Golf Management program.
 
Following a successful amateur playing career, winning two State Championships, Talon has focused his future on helping others find more enjoyment in the game. His secret to success lies in helping players with the knowledge, tools and support to take charge of their road to improvement.
Talon’s style of coaching inspires golfers of all levels to feel confident and empowered within the process of personal development. This special coaching trait is the cornerstone to learning new skills as you increase your love and connection to the game.
 
New to our Academy performance team, we’re excited for the impact Talon brings to the program as a seasoned competitor and talented coach.
 

Chris Cooper

PT, DPT Physical Therapist

A Montana native, Chris received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Washington in 1996 and earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana. Chris has worked for Therapeutic Associates in Bend since that time and has been at the Athletic Club of Bend clinic since 2005.
 
Chris is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and has advanced manual therapy training through the North American Institute of Manual Therapy. He is also a Level 3 Certified Golf Fitness Instructor through the Titleist Performance Institute, a Nike Golf Certified Performance Specialist, as well as Level 1 and 2 K-Vest Certified.
 
Chris finished his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana in May 2010. In 2015, Chris became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties; In 2017, he achieved his TPI Level 2 Junior and Power Coach Certifications; In 2018, he achieved his TPI Level 3 Junior Coach Certification; In 2019, Chris attained his Levels 1-3 SuperSpeed Golf Training System Certifications. He has attended the World Golf Fitness Summit in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018. Chris became TPI Power Level 3 Certified in 2022.
 
His passion is treating injured golfers and helping non-injured golfers maximize golf-specific fitness. He is also passionate about treating foot and ankle injuries. He enjoys mountain and road biking, golfing, skiing, fly-fishing, cooking, and being with his family.
